Cherrapunjee is probably the most visited tourist location in Meghalaya, all throughout the year. Formerly considered the wettest place on earth, till the title shifted to neighbouring Mawsynram a few years back, Cherrapunjee has a lot to offer in terms of experiences. With it's numerous cascading waterfalls, Cherrapunjee is a delight to visit, especially in the monsoons. Trekking to the living root bridges, exploring the waterfalls and swimming in the cool clear waters, caving, ziplining are some of the activities you can do here, apart from enjoying the spectacular views of the rolling hills and unending valleys and canyons. The road to Cherrapunjee is beautiful and mesmerising, with tiny huts lined on both sides of the road, with expansive meadows, pine trees, mountain streams and spectacular views. The hillsides are full of unique ferns and the meadows with wild flowers. Th plunging Nohkalikai falls, the 7-sisters falls, the Wei Sawdong falls, the Dainthlen Falls, the Rainbow Falls, the Mawsmai caves, Arwah caves, etc. are the most frequented tourist locations here.
Dawki is a border town with Bangladesh, located at the south of Meghalaya on the banks of the Umngot River which is famous for the crystal clear waters in the winter months. A very popular and instagrammable location, Dawki draws a lot of tourists and is one of the most frequented locations in Meghalaya.
Shnongpdeng and Darrang are two small villages located nearby Dawki, which are famous for various adventure and water activities like boating, kayaking, scuba diving, ziplining, swimming, snorkelling, cliff jumping, trekking and also draws a lot of tourists. There are several campsites set up to accommodate guests to offer an adventurous stay.
Located 66 km away from Shillong is another small bustling town called Jowai. The road to Jowai is beyond beautiful! Wide landscapes of open fields lined with pine trees, beautiful green hills and spectacular views greet you as you drive freely along the highway. there are many beautiful waterfalls near Jowai like the famous Phe Phe and Krang Shuri Falls, the Moopun Falls, the Rynji Falls, the Tyrshi falls and many others. Nartiang is another beautiful location where one of the largest collection of monoliths exist. and nearby the monoliths is the Jayanti Devi temple, on of the revered Shakti Peeths of India. The town of Jowai is full of life, with a very busy market, government offices, schools, colleges and all sorts of businesses. There are several good homestays here which offer a a good experience.
Designated as Asia's cleanest village is 2003, Mawlynnong, also known as 'God's own garden', is a tiny little picturesque village located approximately 75 km away from Shillong. This is one of the most frequented tourist locations in Meghalaya. The highlight of this village is the super clean way in which the villagers have maintained the village, in the most eco-friendly way. Every house has a small well maintained garden, the roads a clean and there is not a single bit of trash left lying anywhere. Places to see here are the living root bridge, the skywalk, The Church of the Epiphany, the balancing rock and the spectacular views of Bangladesh that you get from the village. There are many homestays where visitors can stay, offering local food.
An interesting place to visit during a trip to Meghalaya is the Mawphlang Sacred Grove. For centuries now, Khasi customs and traditions have been woven into the land and the forests. One of these forests still retains its significance today โ the Sacred Groves of Mawphlang. Visitors are allowed to only one small part of the forests, and are not allowed to take anything away from this hallowed forest, not even a pebble or a twig. The dark canopy above and soft humus under your feet will transport you to a primaeval age โ a contrast from the green meadows and sprightly pines that dominate the surrounding hills. Apart from rare plants, mushrooms, and trees, the forest is also home to old coronation and sacrificial sites. This was where Khasi kings and ceremonial leaders (Ki Lyngdoh) had their meetings and new chiefs were anointed here. The sites are marked with monoliths, still reminders of a dignified past as the forest creeps around them.
The capital of Meghalaya, Shillong is also called as the 'Scotland of the East', for its colonial architecture, the pine-lined roads, the pleasant weather and the misty hills. Although general bustling with activity from dawn to dusk, Shillong offers visitors many sightseeing options within the city itself, like the idyllic Ward's lake, the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, the Don Bosco Museum and also the Elephant Falls, the Shillong peak, the Latium Canyons just at a little distance away form the town. There are many little, but elegant cafes to spend the evenings. A visit to the Police Bazaar to shop for souvenirs and the Burra Bazaar to get a feel of the local markets is a must. Shillong also acts as a base camp for travels to many places like the Mawphlang Scared Grove, Cherrapunji, Smit and many other frequently visited places.

All our tours are customised and hence we do not display any approximate pricing as every tour is unique. We do not book the packages unless payments are made timely.
The itinerary contains the locations we cover. We want you to enjoy your moments and do not want to rush in and out of a place of interest. Due to more time spent in a particular place of liking by our guests, we might not be able to cover another place in the itinerary. Hence, we request our guests to understand this and cooperate with us accordingly.
We are nature lovers and respect the blessings we have received through it. We do not encourage any harm to any living or non-living thing on this planet, and want our guests to do the same.
We would like our guests to respect and follow the norms laid out in all the places we/they visit.
Certain activities like Safaris, Museum, Waterfalls and Parks have logically defined entry and exit timings. These need to be followed as directed.
Aryastays would not be responsible in case any part or whole of the itinerary needs to be cancelled/postponed due to force-majeure events like bad weather, excessive snowfall, strikes or any other unforeseeable events or situations not within our control.
