Assam
Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Located just 40 km from Guwahati and just over an hour's drive, this is a small paradise for wildlife lovers. Boasting of the highest density of one-horned rhinoceros in the world, you can watch Rhinos in the wild from really close quarters. Pobitora WLS is also an acclaimed bird sanctuary, where thousands of migratory bords come flying in every winter. Moreover, there are a wide variety of beautiful resident bird species that are seen all throughout the year. Other animals include the wild water buffaloes, the wild boar, the pigmy hog, jackals, reptiles and in the hilly ranges, leopards and slow loris.
However, a visit to Pobitora is not just about wildlife. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary was created not too long back, by the efforts of the local villagers, who felt the need for protecting the Rhinos and other animals who grazed on their lands. The nearby villages of Mayong also have, on their own right, a strong place in the history of Assam. From ancient times, these villages have been famous for the tantric practices practiced here. These stories are now preserved in a small yet beautiful museum created by the locals very near to the sanctuary. Apart for this, there are evidences of very ancient civilization that existed here, through sculptures, temples, stone inscriptions and archaeological discoveries. There are beautiful viewpoints from where one can look at the majestic Brahmaputra. You can end a day with beautiful sunset boat rides to the sandbanks, wherein one can spot the Gangetic River Dolphins and play in the soft white sand in the middle of the river.

All our tours are customised and hence we do not display any approximate pricing as every tour is unique. We do not book the packages unless payments are made timely.
The itinerary contains the locations we cover. We want you to enjoy your moments and do not want to rush in and out of a place of interest. Due to more time spent in a particular place of liking by our guests, we might not be able to cover another place in the itinerary. Hence, we request our guests to understand this and cooperate with us accordingly.
We are nature lovers and respect the blessings we have received through it. We do not encourage any harm to any living or non-living thing on this planet, and want our guests to do the same.
We would like our guests to respect and follow the norms laid out in all the places we/they visit.
Certain activities like Safaris, Museum, Waterfalls and Parks have logically defined entry and exit timings. These need to be followed as directed.
Aryastays would not be responsible in case any part or whole of the itinerary needs to be cancelled/postponed due to force-majeure events like bad weather, excessive snowfall, strikes or any other unforeseeable events or situations not within our control. We request our guests to kindly bear with us in such situations.
